Thunderbirds are GO!

Saturday 13th August saw Rugby MES visit our track to play trains. One of the main highlights of the day was the arrival of Thunderbird 2 (unpainted) – that’s about the only way to describe the locomotive “Transportation System” (it would be rude to call it a trailer !) – As you can see from the pictures below there is a remarkable similarity!

TB2 then offloaded a VERY rapid HST which then proceeded to lap the track at an alarming rate. Those of our members who were brave enough to take the controls mainly referred to the “G” forces involved when taking off!

Sadly there was no Steam to be seen, other than the Club Sweet Pea which took advantage of the track running, however there were several other visiting locos well worth mentioning including a rather well presented Class 37, a Large CN Loco, a Class 31 (D5573) along with somewhat smaller Class 8 and a nice 0-6-0 shunter which appeared later in the afternoon.

The weather was once again kind to us and everyone seemed to enjoy the day...
